One love, one heart, let's get together and feel alright
Hopefully Land Rover fans in Virginia know those lyrics from arguably the most famous reggae artist of all time. None other, than Bob Marley. Why is he a topic of conversation here on our blog? Well, believe it or not Bob Marley drove a Land Rover. Specifically, it was a 1877 Series III Land Rover Defender, and now this SUV is going through a complete re-build so it can be added to the Bob Marley museum in Kingston, Jamaica.
It's not hard to imagine the music legend bombing down mountain roads on the tropical island, but since his death, his car has just been sitting out, exposed to the elements. Thanks to a collaborative effort between Sandals Resorts International and ATL Automotive in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Marley's Land Rover Defender will be restored to its original condition.
CEO of Sandals, Adam Stewart commented on the restoration effort saying, "It is a tremendous honour to help return such an extraordinary automobile to its former glory. This project has been a long time in the planning and we can't wait to play our part in history -- there are few people in the world who Bob Marley hasn't inspired through his music at some point, so it is only right that we ensure his legacy continues to inspire for many years to come."1
To get this Land Rover up and running again, it will need to be completely rebuilt one high quality Land Rover part at a time.
Let's get together and feel alright here at the Land Rover Richmond showroom located at 11670 Midlothian Tpke Midlothian, VA 23113. You can explore our inventory of new and used Land Rover models and even take them out for a test drive. Come see us today!
