Here at Land Rover Richmond we have tended to think that the vehicles that are part of the current lineup of new Land Rover models are powerful enough as they are. Naturally there will always be a segment of the car buying populace that can never get enough horsepower or torque. Those power-hungry drivers will be excited to know that there could be performance RS versions of two Land Rover vehicles coming down the pike.
The British publication Autocar recently reported that there is a good chance that our favorite producer of luxury SUVs is working on RS versions of both the Range Rover Sport and the Range Rover Evoque.
The guys at Autocar did some thinking and figured that if a Range Rover Evoque RS were to come into existence, it would likely be carrying a supped up version of the current 2.0-liger turbocharged gas engine as well as a litany of cosmetic upgrades to give it a more race-worthy look.
A Range Rover RS model would likely borrow technology from various Jaguar models to take the current 5.0-liter supercharged V8 option and tune it to get closer to 542 horsepower. An engine with that kind of power and torque would be able to go from 0-62 in nearly 4.5 seconds.
We will certainly be on the lookout for any official announcements regarding RS versions of these two models or other favorites of Richmond drivers like the LR2. If we do hear anything you can be sure to read about it here on our blog. Until then you can learn everything there is to know about the current lineup of Land Rover models by visiting us here at Land Rover Richmond.
