In recent weeks, there has been a lot of guessing about what the new 2014 version of the Range Rover Evoque will have in store for us before it is debuted later this year. We are very happy to say that the folks at Land Rover recently sent out a press release detailing all of the edits that will be made to the Evoque for the 2014 model year, and we are excited to say that there are plenty.
We were pleasantly surprised to hear that there would be a series of changes to the drivetrain of the Range Rover Evoque as well as several upgrades to the onboard technology. The most prominent change is obviously the inclusion of a new 9-speed ZF Automatic transmission. On top of that Land rover has built the "World's first 'on-demand' Active Driveline." This should help improve handling in the Evoque models that have both FWD and AWD capabilities. The other improvements are all in the form of driver assistance technology features like Adaptive Cruise Control and Traffic Sign Recognition.
John Edwards, global brand director for Land Rover, commented, "We are thrilled to be moving the Evoque on to the next stage and believe the exciting new driveline technology, driver safety and convenience features plus the Land Rover InControlTM connectivity capability (using advanced mobile technology to keep owners connected with their vehicle, their world and Land Rover services), make the 2014 Evoque an unbeatable choice for customers seeking the ultimate in compact SUV vehicles."1
