In one of our more recent blog posts, we talked about the new hybrid that will be added to the production line of new Land Rover vehicles. Well since we issued that report, some new details have developed and we would like to update you with the latest on this exciting project.
We have been aware for some time now that Land Rover had developed a diesel hybrid model that was going to be released exclusively in Europe. We initially anticipated that if our favorite British automaker decided to send a hybrid our way, that it would be powered by traditional gasoline. It turns out that due to a rising interest in diesel vehicles amongst American consumers, Land Rover has decided to make the European model available in the United States as well.
Naturally we are very excited here at Land Rover Richmond. We suspect that the introduction of a diesel hybrid will open up an entire new segment of consumers interested in luxury and eco-friendliness. Especially since it was announced that this new powertrain will be put into the Range Rover Sport. That means a world-class driving experience with zero emissions and excellent fuel economy. We aren't sure it can get much better than that.
